Hello! I'm Fernando, widely recognized as Bola Delgado in the music circles. As a seasoned mastering engineer and drummer, I bring over two decades of professional experience to the table.
Currently residing in Spain, I'm fully immersed in my studio, honing my craft as a Mastering Engineer. Additionally, I engage in global collaborations, contributing to recording projects in studios worldwide.
I'm proud to be an endorsed professional with Ollo Audio, where I play a pivotal role in the development and testing of their latest headphone models.
Teaching is a passion of mine, and as a Mastering educator, I conduct private tutoring, workshops, and consultancy services focused on audio production, particularly in mixing and mastering.
My career has been marked by notable accolades, including a Latin Grammy Award and a finalist position in the "Profissionais da Musica 2020" awards under the "Best Mastering Engineer" category.
My academic credentials are as comprehensive as my professional ones. I hold a diploma in Sound Engineering from DGC Áudio and SAE Institute Madrid. I also boast a Bachelor's (Hons) in "Audio Production" from Middlesex University of London, where I graduated with honors. My thesis explored the innovative integration of Binaural and Ambisonic techniques with conventional recording and mixing methodologies.
Mastering Mansion in Europe, where I studied under the tutelage of Nick Litwin, honed my specialization in Mastering. As a proactive member of the AES (Audio Engineering Society), I'm continually updating my skills through various courses and workshops.
My diverse experience in sound engineering includes stints as a recording engineer, post-production editor, mixer, and mastering engineer across Europe and South America.
My musical journey started at the Souza Lima Conservatory and Bituca Universidade Popular de Música, specializing in drums. My festival appearances span the globe, collaborating with esteemed artists like Lulo Reinhardt, Mart`nalia, and many more.
In recent years, I've gravitated towards a fusion of Instrumental and Electronic music, leveraging electronic pads in my drum set to create groundbreaking musical textures.
My contributions to the industry have been recognized with several accolades, including the "BDMG Instrumental Music Award" and the "Marco Antonio Araújo Award" for the best jazz album of 2015 as an audio engineer. Moreover, the SAE Institute Madrid honored me as their "Best Student" in the Music Production Course in 2018.
When I'm not in the studio, I occasionally accompany both European and Brazilian touring artists as a drummer.
